In the mood
Something unusual for me: I’m in the mood to listen to music while I write this blog. Most of the time I find it difficult to concentrate while I type, but I’ve selected soft, electronica music as the theme. The sound is not bothersome and I can concentrate.
I purchased a new headset for my Moto Q and it works pretty well. The previous headset left the person I called at a loss because they couldn’t hear me unless the earpiece was positioned just right. With this one (H681), they can hear me regardless of the direction of the mouthpiece. I’m just having a little problem with the earbud fitting in my ear. Oh well. I’ll get it right….eventually. :>)
TLA Video is advertising the advance release of WALL*E, the movie, which will be available 11/17/08. Since I write reviews for Pop Syndicate, I’ve asked the editor to get the DVD and let me do the review since I did one on the soundtrack. I’m not sure if Disney Pixar (c) will be sending an advance copy to him. Who knows? Maybe I’ll get lucky….
The weather here is absolutely fantastic today. There was fog earlier this morning, but it has burned off and the temperature is in the lower 70s.
Y’all have a great day!!!
Waiting
I hate waiting. It’s so wasteful of one’s efforts. I’ve done all my reviews and posted them on Pop Syndicate, written all my future bills and even sent some emails. It’s a sunny day here in the Arcadia Valley, but I’m having trouble with my knees so I can’t take a walk. The cat is satisfied and sleeping and here I sit. I could write some more on my novel, but I’m at a crossroads on it and don’t have a new thought in my head where it will go next.
Yes, I hate waiting. Waiting for something interesting on TV, the mail, my next royalty check. Waiting in line at the grocery store behind someone who uses food stamps or an out-of-town check, the line at Wal-Mart or any other big store. Does that make me an impatient person? I guess it does. I hate lines and always look for the shortest one, the one that invarably has someone with a check and can’t find proper identification in a timely manner. I always go prepared for the line and cannot understand why other people can’t be prepared too. They know they’re going to use a check (and have it ready), but they never think about having an ID ready at the same time.
I have no patience in an elevator when the lady says, “He’s going to get you if you’re not good.” My response–in the last several years–has been, “Lady, he’s your kid, not mine. Therefore, you do the punishing ’cause I won’t.” And, I hate crowds. I guess I’m too organized and should be just as lazy as the next person. It’s not in my makeup, however. I can’t act like other people although I have tried.
Reviews
I’ve just finished reviews of seven music CDs for Pop Syndicate (http://popsyndicate.com). Several are displayed under Music. It’s fun to receive CDs, listen to the music and then critique for the public. Pop Syndicate is viewed by about a million people every day, so it’s the perfect place for reviews. And, I love writing the reviews. Please take time to visit the site if you never have before.
This fall, I hope to be reviewing one of the new TV shows. The editor of Pop Syndicate hasn’t assigned one to me yet, but I should know something within the next several weeks. I also want to write the review for WALL*E (the movie) when it comes out on DVD. Yes, I write reviews for DVDs as well as CDs. I find it exciting to write since I love to do so and I’m not above panning something in one of my reviews. If it stinks, I’m going to say so.
Please tune in to Pop Syndicate and look it over. You don’t have to join, you don’t need to sign in. Just go to the site and have fun reading the reviews. It will make a difference on what you decide to buy at the video store.
Totally
I’m totally at a loss sometimes to figure things out. I don’t know if any of you have ever been such a situation, but it’s confounding to say the least. Like where are all the charges coming from that appear on my bank statement. Or why do I get a welcome letter for a trial offer when the 14-day trial is already past?
I’ve been selected for the Who’s Who directory and will be featured on a page by itself. The only trouble is that Aug. 8th was the due date for anything that needed to be changed or added (such as a picture of myself) and I received the information to fill out and return on Aug. 9th. I logged onto the site and tried to send an email but was told I didn’t have the right clearance to send an email. The only alternative is to give them a call, but the number is not toll free. I hate that.
I received a new credit card in the mail and wanted to call customer service to find out my balane. However, the print on the back of the card is in white and so hard to read that I had to wait for a statement from the company that suppled the card to find out what I had availablle to me. Plus, the number on the card is printed right where my name has been punched on the front of the card.
Sometimes it’s just hard to figure things out.
Lower back pain
I’m in pain. Real pain. It started when I woke up this morning and even though I have taken my medication, the pain still exists. It’s bad enough that I’m having trouble concentrating on any task. I wouldn’t wish this sort of pain on my worst enemy.
I guess I will just have to tolerate it since it happens every day. I, of course, will discuss the pain with my doctor and see if there is an alternative to settle the matter. Perhaps a massage therapist would help. Anything to get rid of the pain.
I’ll leave you all with just this.
Morning coffee
I’m sitting in my enclosed patio looking out the windows on three sides. I admire the view I have of the trees, clouds and birds. My cat, Mandi, enjoys the view as well. She will heard a bird’s chatter and immediately climb on the sofa to look out the window and watch the birds on the ground and in the trees. She has no tail, but I can see the fur on her back ripple and I know she’s twitching that invisible tail.
While I have my coffee, I work on my computer writing reviews for Pop Syndicate (http://www.popsyndicate.com) and take life easy. The sun is shining and we are having a brief respite from the hot weather that plagued us last week. I woke up to 62 degrees and when I went outside for the paper, there was a cool breeze that really felt swell.
Well, I’ve just refilled my coffee cup and Mandi has decided she will eat some dry catfood before she takes a drink of fresh water. And, I’m ready to start writing my review of “The Dead Zone – The Final Season.”
Until later.
